Which is the longest and which is the shortest surah?

The longest surah is Al-Baqara with 285 verses. The shortest is a tie between 3 surahs of 3 verses each: Al-Asr, Al-Kawthar, An-Nasr. These figures follow the Medinan verse count used in the Qaloun recitation and may differ by a verse or two from the Kufan count.
