Sheikh Mahmoud Khalil Al-Hussary (may Allah have mercy on him) is one of the most famous Quran reciters of the modern era. Born on September 17, 1917 in Shubra An-Namla, Tanta (Egypt), he passed away on November 24, 1980. He mastered the ten readings and recorded the first recited mushaf in the Hafs reading, as well as a version in the Qalun reading of Nafi'. He is considered a master and reference for generations of reciters.
